Handy
Sound carries well. My dog doesn't mind it and is not bothered by it.

Great concept, needs work
Love the concept! And it’s a beautiful looking bell. But as others have stated, the magnet holding the strap away from the bell falls loose with shaking or vigorous running. Annoying to have to keep fixing, I would wrap it in around to try and hold it better which did help but it would still loosen. I think I’ll bring a binder clip next time and just clip it off the bell. I do off leash running on trail, and the sound of the bell isn’t annoying but is loud enough to hear if my dog goes ahead of me or through the bush. Helpful in bear country too!

Handy
It’s great- there’s a magnet attached to make it quieter if you want to take a bell break without taking it off/when it’s not in use

Room for Improvement
I love Wilderdog as a company and generally their products. This is the first time something hasn’t met my expectations. The idea of the backcountry bell is sound: my off-leash dog ranges far and a bell helps me keep tabs on her. The Velcro to attach it only when needed, also great. The magnet to silence the bell on occasion, fantastic. However… maybe my dog adventures a little too hard for this because I struggled to keep the magnetic “silencer” from releasing from its anchor and silencing the bell and then, most distressingly, while she was bounding through dog-height powder today the bell vanished completely. I thought the Velcro strap around the collar was strong enough to be worry-free but alas. It is gone. Pretty bummed because again, I respect the company and am very pro-dog bell. This one didn’t measure up though.

Nice Design
Can’t wait to use! My pup is still growing and is a little too small right now. Very nice design
